In today’s social landscape, it’s all about content. We asked marketers in our 2016 Future of Social report what types of material they were creating as part of content marketing at least once a month:
At 79 percent, image-based posts are the most popular option for content marketing. This is indicative of image’s familiarity, digestibility, and ease of formatting with which content creators are comfortable.
Jessica Caridade of Laura Geller Beauty adds “people are visual, and will not only remember compelling image content, but they will engage, share, and interact with it. Images can generally have a low production cost [in content marketing], and take much less time to prepare than video content, so there is usually a great return story.”
Blog posts came in second at 58 percent, with video following behind at 46 percent. Infographics help brands present complex data in a concise yet impactful way. This explains their fourth place ranking at 27 percent.
