This Father’s Day is a big one for me: this is my first June as a dad. If you’re a dad as well, or know of a father trying to balance a busy schedule between work and family, I’m sure you can empathize with my need to be as productive as possible. After all, the easier I can make my life, the more time I get to spend with my (ridiculously adorable) 10 month-old daughter.
Since Father’s Day is just around the corner, here are five apps that will help you manage your personal life just a wee bit better:
Above: Keeper in action.
1) KEEPER (Free, iOS and Android)
With everything else you have to keep in mind, remembering multiple passwords can often be a task. Keeper offers to do this for you, my remembering your login and password for in a secure and organized way. And when the moment comes to retrieve the information, you’ll have it at your fingertips!
2) ALL-IN-FITNESS ($2.99, iOS and Android)
With over six million users, this is one app that’s polished. Whether for tracking calories, looking for healthy recipes, wanting to work on a body part, looking for a “personal trainer” to coach you on how to properly do a certain type of exercise, this app your answer. The extremely effective tool will go a long way when you only have a few moments for yourself and care about doing things right in the health department.
3) HOME DEPOT (Free, iOS and Android)
Handy dads will love this app, which gives you easy access to all online and in store products where you can also access pricing. Locate products by speaking into your phone or scanning a label. There’s also a list of upcoming workshops, converter tools and more.
4) DUE ($4.99, iOS)
This app solves a particular problem. Need to remember something at a certain time for work? Want to send that email out at noon? Due can set your phone to alert you at specific times (at 4p.m., 45 minutes from now, etc.) so you don’t have to leave post-in notes all over your work space. You can also use the app to help you at home i.e. walk the dog at 6 p.m. and take the trash out every night at 10 p.m.
5) SPORTS TAP (Free, iOS and Android)
It might not be possible to still watch all your favorite teams play, now that you have a team of your own at home. Sports Tap will make sure you still have access to the latest news and scores for professional and college basketball, football, baseball, hockey, NASCAR, boxing/fighting, soccer, golf and more.
Above: Grill-It
is organized into helpful categories.
6) GRILL-IT! ($1.99, iOs and Android)
Looking for BBQ recipes online can be like a little daunting given how many options are out there, but Grill-It app solves that problem. Backyard grill responsibilities will no longer seem daunting; you’ll be able to browse grilling recipes by category (Beef and Lamb, Poultry, Vegetables, Seafood, etc.) just in time for summer.
Dads: What apps are you using to make your life run a bit more smoothly? And gift-givers: are there any apps you think the typical (amazing) dad would benefit from this Father’s Day?
