Firestarter Awards: Facebook Nominees

In 2014, we saw many brands make their mark on Facebook, but most haven’t performed as well as Spartan Race, King Arthur Flour, Whole Foods, Visit Denver, and Zoya Nail Polish. These five brands are leaders in digital innovation for their commitment to high-quality content and service – probably why all of which have been nominated as Best Brand on Facebook in our inaugural Firestarter Awards.

After speaking with several digital media experts, it looks like we may have a tight race this year.

Befittingly, Spartan, the racing brand, is the favorite so far. Their marketing strategy is simple yet powerful, with strong visuals and a motivational tagline— “Race the world. Then seize it” certainly grabbed our attention. Sign us up!

“Spartan Race does the best job out of the Facebook nominees,” professes digital marketing strategist, Gary J. Nix. In Gary’s eyes, Spartan is strong when it comes to connecting with audience members across various lifecycle stages. “Very clear content, along with plenty of inspiration in their messaging provides a connection for those who are thinking about, going to, and have done a Spartan Race.”

Another favorite is King Arthur Flour, which captivates its audience with a fresh variety of recipes and Facebook posts that not only cater to the taste palette, but also encourages people to engage.

“I’m impressed with the content that King Arthur Flour consistently delivers to their Facebook fans,” says Lara Nicotra, Marketing Manager at frozen yogurt chain 16 Handles. “By the name alone, you wouldn’t assume much from a flour brand. But they’ve managed to stay relevant and fill their fans’ feeds with several engaging posts a day featuring recipes and tips. More proof that people love their ‘food porn’ – post a yummy photo of brownies and cakes and your audience will be happy!”
